Sweet Tea at the Edge of America
My practice investigates the intersection of narrative, place, and collective meaning-making in rural America. Through writing, social engagement, and platform creation, I explore how communities construct and transmit cultural knowledge. My work manifests in multiple forms: literary projects, critical writing, technological interventions, and place-based initiatives in West Texas and Eastern Kentucky.
Drawing on traditions of social practice art and critical pedagogy, I create collaborative spaces that challenge traditional hierarchies of cultural production. These interventions - whether digital platforms or physical gathering spaces - serve as laboratories for examining how rural communities can become sites of cultural transformation and resistance to centralized power structures.
Central to my practice is the question of how technology and literary traditions can be reframed to serve localized, community-driven cultural production. Through this work, I seek to expand critical discourse around rurality, digital democracy, and collective authorship.
